Paper

The second invention that i chose was the invention of paper. Altough by the seventeenth century the Europeons had made paper that is still in great shape today, the oldest piece of paper was found next to a grave in China. Eventhough paper was made in the second century in was not used as the primary writing source for a while after that. It had been in China for a couple of decades before was the primary writing source. Do you think that using paper as clothing is strange? Most modern day americans would, we always think of paper as a material for writing on. In ancient China they used the thick paper that they made to protect them from the cold. Think, would you ever put a piece of paper in your shoe to line it? The Chinese did. Their paper was so thick that they would often use it as a shoe liner. The ancient chinese also used the paper to hang on the wall and cover it like paint would. This was the invention of wall paper. The invention of paper took 1,400 years to travel to the west. The reason that I chose the invention of paper as one of my top five inventions is because without paper we wouldnt have a lot of modern day materials. Including; wallpaper, toilet paper, cardboard, tissues, paper towels, and much more. Imagine a life with out any toilet paper. People would be less sanitary and not to mention probably smell. How about tissues, when you get a bad cold and you dont have anything to wipe your nose on. These are the reasons that I chose the invention of paper as one of my top five invenitons.
