This 1985 Camaro Berlinetta (a.k.a. Black Beauty, The Batmobile, or Sex Magnet) was bought off the lot new. Long story... it was bought "slightly used," because the first guy who drove it off the lot couldn't cope with the all-electronic dashboard and brought it back after 6 weeks. (The Camaro Berlinetta was one of the first cars available with an all-electronic dashboard.) I walked in a couple of days later asking specifically for "a blac Berlineeta with T-tops." This one was the last one on the planet. They had just stopped making them!
It has 182,300 miles on it. Only half of that is on the current engine (a direct replacement, 5 liter V-8). An unfortunate lubrication malfunction burned up the original engine 15 years ago. It has been well-maintained, kept running, and runs great now. Most of the dashboard works, which is a treat on these models! It needs a couple of lenses, and some interior work, and it's about due for a paint job. The right-front quarter panel was replaced two weeks after I bought it; I was showing off for a cute redhead and "parallel parked into a skinny pole." But if I never told you about it, you'd probably never be able to tell; it was replaced with a factory-new panel.
I am asking $7,000 for it. You can come and drive it away today for $7,000. If you love Camaros, and plan to love and care for this one, I can be convinced to let it go for less.
This car still drives like a Motor City rocket-powered skateboard. Many miles of fun left. I bought it new, and drove it into Classic Status. Now it's your turn to own some true American Muscle Motor. When she starts, it's like a vast beast clearing its throat. Don't wait, call me fast before someone snatches this baby up.
